Deep drilling

In order to drill out a deep hole (usually – at least 10 times deeper than its diameter) or to produce cylinders or barrels, the deep drilling process is involved. It differs from the traditional drilling operation by the influence of vibration, which should be reduced to a minimum, so that the drill would not bend or crack. We use modern equipment to insure that.

Deep drilling is usually executed by one of the two ways, with the essential difference between them in the cooling and chip removal methods – this is being implemented either by the outside or the inside part of the drill. After the drilling is complete, there are additional metal treatment methods to improve the straightness, uniformity, surface smoothness of the hole or to add more complex characteristics to it.

We execute deep drilling with the use of 2A450, MC – 032, 2D450, PT601, 2A55 drilling devices. We can drill a 50 mm, 63 mm, 63,5 mm, 80 mm, 90 mm, 120 mm and 160 mm diameter deep holes or cylinders, with the external diameter up to 270 mm and the length equal up to 3000 mm.

Deep drilling is also applied in cylinder restoration.
